Forced Labor Policy
In FATIH KALEM INDUSTRY AND TRADE INC.:
- We commit to comply with the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, the Labor Law No. 4857, and the ‘Prevention of Forced Labor and Voluntary Overtime’ policy specified in the social compliance rules of the international brands we supply.
- Our goal is to provide a dignified working environment for all our employees.
- Any act of forced labor that could be committed by any employee, manager, customer, guest, or supplier of goods and services, or by individuals who are not employees of the institution, is unacceptable.
- Forced or compulsory labor refers to all work or services that an individual is compelled to perform under pressure, violence, or threat of punishment and is not voluntary.
- The payment of wages or other compensations to workers does not imply that the work can be forced or compelled.
- The free offering of labor as a right and the freedom of employees to terminate their employment contract within the legal framework or with reasonable notice are guaranteed.
- Forced labor is a violation of fundamental human rights.
- Examples of situations that could be considered forced labor: a) Employing through indebtedness, b) Creating situations where the right to refuse work does not exist, c) Encompassing situations where convicted or sentenced individuals are employed without a specific public authority’s special supervision and court order.
- Our company does not allow child labor, youth labor, and forced labor, and we do not tolerate such practices from our suppliers.
- Young workers or interns working for our suppliers should be registered as required by local law.
- If practices contrary to the principles and standards of this policy are encountered, the business relationship with the supplier will be terminated.
